Federal agents helped raid a Center City jewelry store that is under investigation in connection with a string of robberies. The owner Wasim Shazad, of V Jewelers on Jewelers Row, was arrested a few days ago on charges of fencing jewelry stolen from high-end homes in the suburbs. Shazad is one of five suspects that are suspected to be behind a ring of 15 burglaries which totaled $1.5 million in stolen goods. Prosecutors say that Shazad has been using three store fronts he owns to buy and sell the stolen goods. Shazad has been held on $250,000 bail and his court date is set for February 2nd.

The Republican party will be holding a congressional retreat in Philadelphia this week, and President Donald Trump is expected to make an appearance at the event. Officials say that Trump will be event to "address congressional Republicans, as well as meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May" who will be attending the retreat. British Officials said that May is attending the retreat to talk with the Republican senators and representatives. The retreat is set to take place from Wednesday January 25 to Friday January 27th at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.

Philadelphia Police are now investigating after 3 suspects are wanted for breaking into a Southwest Philadelphia home and attacking a couple while their two children were sleeping. The incident took place on the 6400 block of Garman Street just before 5:30 am on Sunday morning. Police say that the suspects gained access to the house by breaking open the garage and an alley door. Investigators stated that the men were masked and armed. Once inside the house, the suspects pistol whipped the 35-year-old homeowner, and bound his wife as they went through the house looking for valuables. The suspects were able to get away with a safe which had an undisclosed amount of money, spare keys, and important documents. The two children were unharmed during the robbery. Police are still searching for the suspects.
