31-year-old Ardmore-native Benj Pasek took home a Golden Globe in Sunday night's ceremonies from The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. Pasek is a cowriter along with Justin Hurwitz and Justin Paul of the Best Original Song. They wrote the song "City of Stars" from La La Land. It is a simple duet with piano accompaniment performed by stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Pasek said on stage after receiving the award, "We never thought we’d get to be a part of an original movie musical. That’s what got us into loving musicals in the first place... We really are. [nervous] This is for musical theater nerds everywhere. Thank you for this!" Pasek grew up on the Main Line attending Friend's Central in Wynnewood. He currently has a musical playing on Broadway in New York called Dear Evan Hansen. Listen to "City of Stars" below.

The murder trial of a New Jersey father accused of killing his 3-year-old son has been postponed again. David Creato Jr.’s trial was scheduled to start on Monday, however, the judge agreed to push off the trial until April 10th after Creato’s attorney said that the defense was still waiting for a report from a pathologist they consulted. The trial was originally supposed to start in October, but got delayed until yesterday because Creato’s attorney asked for more time to get a report from another expert witness. David is accused of killing his son Brendan Creato in October 2015. He initially called police to report the child missing and said that he mysteriously disappeared. The boy's body was found not far from home in a wooded area a few hours later. The exact cause of death has never been identified but the medical examiner ruled it “homicidal violence.” The 23-year-old pled not guilty to murder and child endangerment charges. He remains in jail on $750,000 bail.

Vandals have struck the Temple Menorah Keneseth Chai synagogue on Tyson Avenue in Philadelphia's Tacony neighborhood for the second time in about month. Both times the worship center was targeted just before Friday evening Sabbath services around 7:30 p.m. The first occurred on December 2nd when a rock was thrown through a stained glass window. This past Friday, January 6th, six windows were shattered by rocks. President Malcolm Adler believes they are hates crimes as does the Anti-Defamation League. The synagogue is going to be adding a security system with surveillance. A donor in Florida has offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible. On Monday, Jewish Community Center's across the country received bomb threats, including the Siegel JCC in Wilmington, DE. It was evacuated and cleared by the bomb squad.
