The Philadelphia Union has signed left-back Giliano Wijnaldum for their 2017 season. Wijnaldum has been playing in the second tier soccer club Bochum in Germany. Union Sporting Director Earnie Stewart stated: "We're pleased to welcome Giliano to Philadelphia Union and are excited about the talent he adds to our defensive corps, as a young player who I have worked with before in the Netherlands, I know firsthand the potential he brings to our club. We are eager to integrate him within the squad and believe he has a bright future with the Union." Giliano is the younger brother of Liverpool's star midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum.

Ben Simmons is traveling with the Sixers tonight as they take on the Celtics at 7:30. Simmons has not yet traveled with the team this season due to recovering from his foot injury, but seems to be getting better and closer to when he will be able to get on the court. Simmons was seen practicing with the team on Friday as the Sixers get ready to take on the Celtics. There is still no word on when Simmons will officially start, but it seems like it will be soon within 2017.

Penn State Wide Receiver Chris Goodwin has stated that he will be giving up his final year of eligibility to play college football to be able to enter into the NFL Draft. Goodwin had a fantastic game at the Rose Bowl against USC setting new records for the team with 9 catches for 187 yards. Goodwin also caught two touchdown passes in their 49-52 loss. Goodwin is ending his Junior year with 59 receptions, 982 yards, and 11 touchdowns, as well as making third-team All-Big Ten. Goodwin stated "As a kid from Delaware, I could only dream about being in this position, this has been one of the hardest decisions in my life, but after praying on it and having many conversations with those I trust the most, I've decided to forego my senior year and enter the NFL draft." "I believe this is the best decision for myself and my family. I can't thank my brothers, coaches, support staff and Nittany Nation enough for their constant support throughout my three years here. This year was something special and I'll be forever grateful to have been a part of it."
