Clay Buchholz, a veteran Boston Red Sox pitcher, has now been traded to the Phillies for minor league second baseman Josh Tobias. Buchholz spent 10 seasons with the Red Sox, and had very high expectations from the team since his start when he threw a no hitter during his second career start. Over his career with the Red Sox, Buchholz had a record of 81-61, with and ERA of .396 and 206 appearances (188 starts). Buchholz's contract with the Red Sox had a possibility of him being traded during the offseason, and it became clear that he would be moving on when the Sox signed left hander Chris Sale to the team, giving them 7 major league starting pitchers in their rotation. The Red Sox talked about trading lefty Drew Pomeranz, but President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski suggested trading Buchholz since he was eligible to be a free agent after the season. Buchholz will now be added to the Phillies starting pitching lineup also including: Jeremy Hellickson, Jerad Eickhoff, and Vince Velasquez.

The 76ers (7-20) take on the New Orleans Pelicans (9-20) Tuesday night. Pelicans' Forward Anthony Davis is coming off one of his worst games of the season after only scoring 12 points in Sunday's 100-113 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Davis is the second leading scorer in the NBA right now, averaging around 29.6 points a game. Meanwhile Sixers' big man Joel Embiid is coming off of his best game of the season after scoring 33 points against the Nets on Sunday. Embiid also had 10 rebounds and 3 blocked shots on Sunday. The Pelicans are playing tonight with the return of forward Dante Cunningham (Villanova) who returned for Sunday's game against the Spurs after missing 12 games due to a fractured right fibula. The Pelicans will be missing Solomon Hill who is out with the birth of his child, and Quincy Pondexter who injured his knee. The game is on tonight at 7.

Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson stated that OT Lane Johnson will be starting at right tackle on this Thursday night's game against the New York Giants. Johnson has missed the past 10 games due to a suspension in October for violating the NFL's performance enhancing drug policy for the second time. Johnson had returned to the Eagles on Monday for practice after spending the 10 game suspension in his home state of Oklahoma. When asked how he has been doing, Coach Pederson stated he has not seen or spoken to Johnson in the 10 weeks, and was unsure of his physical condition after being out for 10 games. The Eagles have also stated that RB Darren Sproles will be returning to play in Thursday night's game after being cleared of concussion protocol
