Philadelphia's Archbishop Charles Chaput called presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton "very bad news for our country." In a speech Thursday at the University of Notre Dame, Chaput said that since he first voted in 1966, "the major parties have never, at the same time, offered two such deeply flawed candidates." Chaput said, "One candidate, in the view of a lot of people, is a belligerent demagogue with an impulse-control problem. And the other, also in the view of a lot of people, is a criminal liar, uniquely rich in stale ideas and bad priorities,"

Authorities in Camden County have arrested and charged a woman with hindering an investigation, as officers continue to look for the suspects involved in the death of Gabby Carter. Investigators say Shakia Land, 35, was charged with hindering the investigation in 8-year-old Gabby Carter's death back on August 24th. Land is charged with providing detectives with a false alibi for a person of interest. The charge carries a potential 18 month prison sentence. Gabby died from her injuries two days after she was shot in the head while riding her bike, across the street from her Camden home. Camden County police say the gunfire broke out when several men opened fire on an intended target.

The wife of a pastor shot a would-be armed robber late Thursday night as she, her husband, and their son were returning home for the night in Frankford. The family was getting out of their vehicle when they were confronted by a man with a rifle demanding money. The 48-year-old pastor was reaching for his wallet when the attempted robber hit the husband in the head with the rifle. That’s when the pastor’s 38-year-old wife pulled out her own gun and shot the gunman in the leg. The suspect managed to get away but was later arrested by police.
