Mayor Jim Kenney has condemned a photo circulating on social media of a Philadelphia police officer with an apparent Nazi-style tattoo on his arm. Kenney says the tattoo is "incredibly offensive" and not the sort of message police should be giving the community. The Police Department also said its Internal Affairs unit would review the photo, which began circulating on social media Wednesday night. It showed a bike-patrol officer with a tattoo on his left forearm of an apparent spread-winged eagle resembling a symbol used by the Nazis, and above it the tattooed word Fatherland in Gothic letters.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is in Philadelphia today meeting with African-American voters during an afternoon event coordinated by the Greater Exodus Baptist Church. The event is a continuation of Trump’s appeal to black voters. He's currently polling a dismal 2 percent of support among African American voters. Trump is pointing out that Hillary Clinton has failed African Americans for 35 years and would like them to give him a chance to fix it.

Hurricane Hermine has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm but is still likely to put a damper on Labor Day weekend plans down the shore. Hermine could bring waves as high as six feet along the coast. The Jersey shore is now under a tropical storm watch. Today is the calm before the storm. Saturday afternoon, expect high winds, rain and rip currents at the shore. See map below.
