Meredith Mclver Exposed; Delaware River Grant; Fairhill Block Party

After dismissing charges of plagiarism yesterday, the Trump campaign finally acknowledged that passages were accidently taken from Michelle Obama's 2008 speech delivered at the Democratic National Convention. Staffer Meredith Mclver identified herself as the one responsible for taking phrases from Michelle Obama's speech. She apologized and even offered her resignation but the Trumps did not accept it.

Wednesday, The National Fish and Wildlife and William Penn Foundations gave a check with over 1 million dollars in grants specifically to pay for projects to both enhance and protect the Delaware River. The money will be used for 12 projects which include restoring natural habitats and protecting critical sources of drinking water. This water will help areas in Philadelphia, Camden, Wilmington, and New York.

A block party drew over a hundred people to the Fairhill neighborhood yesterday. The block party took a few months to plan. There was a dunk tank, food, and the opportunity to meet police from around the neighborhood. The police hope that events such as this will help strengthen ties in the neighborhoods that they serve. It appears to be paying off. Many residents believe the block party brought a few hours of peace.
