Bogus GoFundMe Page for Dead Student; Nova Financial Execs Found Guilty; NFL Draft Tonight

Three Howard High School of Technology students believed to be involved in the incident that resulted in the death of a student, have been out of school since the incident. Police say 16-year- old Amy Francis-Joyner was beaten in the bathroom and died after being airlifted to the hospital. Meanwhile, the family of the girl condemned a bogus GoFundMe page supposedly set up to raise money in the 10th grader's memory.

A federal jury on Wednesday found two leaders of the defunct Nova Financial Holding Inc. guilty of using a circular loan scheme in a bid to defraud the U.S. Treasury Department's bank bailout program in 2009. Brian Hartline of Collegeville, and Barry Bekkedam, who moved from the Main Line to Florida in 2010, were found guilty of conspiracy to defraud the federal government, fraud against TARP. the Troubled Asset Relief Program, and two counts of false statements to the federal government. Bekkedam, who played college basketball at Villanova in the late 1980s, accused federal prosecutors of pursing "trumped-up and false charges."

Tonight the NFL draft gets underway. The Philadelphia Eagles hold the #2 overall pick and they are expected to take their quarterback of the future. The Los Angeles Rams have the #1 pick and are also expected to take a quarterback. The Birds’ likely pick is North Dakota State signal caller, Carson Wentz. First pick, 8:00 tonight.
