Cabrini College Student Found Dead, Philly Police Officers Not Guilty, Man Sentenced To Life

A 22-year-old Cabrini College Student was found dead in a West Conshohocken home over the weekend. The house was rented by lacrosse players at Cabrini College. The students had a party at the house on Saturday night, and the friends of the student found him dead on Sunday morning. An autopsy is being performed to figure out the cause of death, although they suspect it might be a drug overdose.

Two former Philly Police Officers have been proven not guilty of the wrongful beating of a man during a traffic stop. 31-year-old Sean McKnight and 28-year-old Kevin Robinson were accused of beating 23-year-old Najee Rivera near North 7th and Somerset street in May of 2013. The officers said that Rivera ran after running a stop sign, and the officers believed he was a drug dealer.

A father was given a second guilty conviction after his case was re-opened. Daniel Dougherty was charged with setting his house on fire and killing his two sons in Oxford Circle back in 1985. Jurors debated for six days before finding Dougherty guilty of second degree murder and arson. Dougherty was sentenced to life without parole.

The Phillies play at home against the Padres tonight.

Today, Rainy, with a high of 57 in Center City.
