When we started today, most schools opened on time. Roads were just wet. And SEPTA had only minor delays. The Winter Storm Warning has been downgraded to an Advisory. We'll get snow showers off and on the rest of the day with most areas getting 1 to 3 inches. South and West of the city could get a little more before it's all over tomorrow morning.

The Temple University board of trustees voted unanimously to move forward with a controversial plan to build a $126 million, 35,000-seat stadium and retail complex on North Broad Street. There is community opposition from the neighbors who were not represented during Temple’s decision making process. The approval, Temple president Neil Theobald explained, was just for $1 million in "preliminary approval" for design plans, which then would be brought to the community.

Officials have announced the arrest of a local teacher on multiple counts of endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors. 30 year old Brandon Keith Mitchell, now a former chemistry teacher at Downingtown West High School, was suspended after multiple sexually explicit solicitations and conversations with a 16-year old chemistry student through text messaging. Mitchell resigned from his teaching position at the high school after an investigation found he solicited the victim to send him nude photographs. He also told the victim he wanted to watch the victim masturbate and sent the victim approximately 20 nude photographs of himself. The victim then sent Mitchell 10 nude photographs and one sexually explicit video of the victim. Officials did a search of Mitchell’s electronic devices and phone records revealed over 12,000 text messages between him and the victim. These conversations lasted from May 2013 until December 2014. Mitchell told the victim to delete their conversations, according to officials. Despite the attempt to hide the crime, police were able to recover text messages that Mitchell sent to the victim in June 2013 suggesting that the victim perform oral sex after the victim graduated from high school. Police also recovered hundreds of other sexually explicit video of the victim to Mitchell’s laptop computer
