A former resident of a North Philadelphia homeless shelter who had been evicted Friday night because he was high on drugs and became violent with the staff returned to the shelter Sunday morning with a gun and shot two employees, killing one of them. The gunman, whose identity had not been released Sunday night, remained on the run after escaping on foot along train tracks behind the Station House shelter, on Broad Street near Lehigh Avenue, where the shootings occurred.

Update: Police said John Brock has turned himself in and will face charges of murder, attempted murder and related offenses for the Sunday morning shooting at Station House shelter in North Philadelphia.

UPDATE: Police have identified the suspect as 32-year-old John Brock. He has multiple prior arrests and is considered to be armed and dangerous. He is wanted for killing 43-year-old Edward Barksdale and wounding 26-year-old Lamont Barham. Brock is still at large.
