Frigid temperatures made it difficult for firefighters called to Cobbs Creek Golf Course late last night. A fire broke out in the clubhouse on Cardington Road on the Karakung Course about 11:00 p.m. The fire was under control just before 1 a.m. There were no injuries however the fire department had water issues in the cold and now the house has completely iced over.

A father and son were separated for a time last night when dad’s car was stolen with the boy asleep in the back seat. The man pulled into a 7/11 in Frankford about 2:25 am and went in leaving the car running. While inside another man jumped in the car and took off. Police cruisers and a chopper were dispatched. State Police issued an Amber Alert. The car was recovered about a mile away. The thief was long gone. And the boy was still sleeping in the back seat.

Police confirmed the skeletal remains discovered in Ridley Creek State Park on New Year's Day were those of a white female in her late teens to late 20s. However, they said no identification would be made until an autopsy is completed later in the week. The woman was believed to be about 5-foot-3 with a slender build, "prominent teeth," and either light brown or blond hair. The remains were found by someone walking in a wooded area just off the main trail of the Delaware County park. There is speculation that the remains were those of Amanda De Guio, a Drexel Hill woman missing since June 2014.
