A man is in custody today after accidentally shooting himself during a home invasion. Late last night two men attempted a home invasion on the 2500 block of North Bancroft Street in North Philadelphia. The two masked men broke into a home and had guns. According to the woman inside at the time, shortly after entering the home one of the men accidently shot himself in the leg. At that point, both men took off. Police say the man that shot himself is in police custody and in the hospital recovering.

Some light is being shed on the Eagles firing Chip Kelly. Offensive Tackle, Lane Johnson spoke to the media yesterday and speculated that Chip’s ego got in the way of his better judgement when dealing with players. Johnson painted Kelly as a dictator who banished players or assistants if they disagreed with him. Johnson said the power struggle up in the front office could clearly be felt and caused unrest in the locker room by the players.

It’s New Year’s Eve and we are finally out from under cloud cover. If you are planning on the heading downtown for the fireworks displays, the weather will be dry tonight. Temperatures for the 6 pm display will be in the mid 40’s and about 40 degrees for the midnight show. For the Mummers Parade tomorrow there will be a mix of sun and clouds and dry with temperatures in the mid to high 30’s at parade time.
