Security for Penn State v Michigan; Woman Charged in Torching Neighbor's House; Please Touch New CEO

Penn State officials are beefing up security at Saturday's football game and other larger events in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris. There are no known threats to the game against Michigan - the final home game for 19 Penn State seniors - but the school decided to increase security anyway. One change is that gates to Beaver Stadium will open at 10 a.m. for the noon game, 30 minutes earlier than usual. That's to give staff more time to search fans as they enter. Fans and employees will be required to open their outerwear and security guards will pat down those entering the stadium. Some people may also be asked to empty their pockets, depending on the circumstances. The school is discouraging bags at the game, though clear, one-gallon zip-closed plastic bags will be allowed.

A Montgomery County woman is facing charges of arson and criminal mischief for burning down her neighbors’ house while they were on vacation in Disney World. Donna Krup of Commons Drive in Lower Pottsgrove is charged with setting the December 5th blaze that destroyed Ernie and Christine Morris’ house, killing their pet cat, Bandit who was in the house at the time. Ernie Morris is a detective in Limerick Township and Krupp blamed police for her son’s trouble with the law.

A consultant - who is connected to the lead bankruptcy lawyer for the Please Touch Museum - has been hired as a strategy adviser to the museum and will take over as its CEO when it comes out of bankruptcy. The museum announced at a news conference Monday that an anonymous donor had pledged $3.25 million to its fund-raising effort, and that Patricia Wellenbach would eventually take over as CEO.
