Car-Train Collision; New Approach to Remove Street Dealers; Erica von Tiehl Testimony

There was a close call with a freight train in Bridgeport overnight. Montgomery County officials are investigating what caused a car to become stuck on the tracks before being struck by a freight train. The female driver of the car was able to escape before the impact and was not hurt. The woman's car became stuck on the tracks near 2nd and Depot in Bridgeport just before 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. No one on-board the Norfolk Southern freight train was injured.

Police in Woolwich Township, New Jersey are trying something new to get drug dealers off the streets. The department posted banners asking drug dealers to report other drug dealers to the police to eliminate their competition. Of course there is debate over this method. While some say ANY plan to remove drugs is good, others say schemes like this don’t achieve the real goal – changing behavior.

Philadelphia TV news anchor Erica von Tiehl testified in the second day of the Common Pleas Court trial of John Hart, 39, of Havertown, who is charged with stalking, harassment, and identity theft in an alleged campaign against von Tiehl in late 2011 after she ended their brief relationship. Hart’s lawyer Jack McMahon claims there is no evidence Hart stole personal identity information from von Tiehl or that of another woman with similar allegations.
