A well-known Philadelphia jazz musician has been arrested for attempting to meet an underage boy he met online for sex. 69-year-old Charles Cohen is charged with Criminal Attempt of Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse with a Child and Unlawful Contact with a Minor among other charges. The Montgomery County District Attorney's office announced the charges today. They said that Cohen communicated online with someone that he thought was a 14-year-old boy but was really an undercover agent. He arranged to meet the 'boy' in Upper Providence Township and perform sexual acts. Police arrested Cohen when he showed up at the location on September 28th. He is being held on $100,000 bail. Cohen has been performing improvisational free jazz since 1971 using the analog synthesizer.

A high school in Mayfair in Northeast Philadelphia was put on lockdown on Friday morning after there was a report of a possible gun on campus. Police responded to Lincoln High School on Ryan Ave just after 11 a.m. A 15-year-old male sophomore reportedly told other students that he left a gun near the school. Officials put the school on lockdown and SWAT, Homeland, and Police searched the school. The boy was taken in for questioning. No gun was found and the lockdown was lifted shortly after it began. The investigation continues.

Philadelphia Police are looking for two suspects wanted in an assault outside of a restaurant in Northeast Philadelphia last weekend. It happened on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:30 outside Benny the Bums restaurant on the 9900 block of Bustleton Avenue. The 52-year-old male victim was standing outside before being approached by a male and female. The female pointed at the victim and the male then punched him, knocking him to the ground. The male continued to beat him before slamming him to the ground. The female was screaming at them. The two then fled. The victim was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital for treatment. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video. If you have any information call Philadelphia Police at 215.686.TIPS (8477).
