Pope's Emotional Impact; Philly Returning to Normal; Bob Brady Confesses to Pope

Today the entire Philadelphia region is basking in the glow of a historic U.S. visit by Pope Francis. A reported 860,000 people filled the Ben Franklin Parkway for Sunday's Papal Mass. And Pope Francis touched many. He returned the Vatican last night leaving behind for all who listened, a reason for new introspective thoughts and ideas on how to live our lives.

Philadelphia is getting back to "traffic normal" ahead of schedule. The Ben Franklin Bridge opened before dawn. The Schuylkill Expressway and Vine Street Expressway are open. There are still detours around the Parkway as clean-up and staging, sound and lights get taken down and loaded out.

U.S. Representative Bob Brady confessed to the Pope last night on the tarmac at the airport. Brady told the Pope he had taken the drinking glass used by Pope Francis during his address to Congress. Brady told the Pope he used the water to bless his family and friends, some sick with cancer. Pope Francis responded, “Bueno” and accepted Brady’s gift of an American flag.

iRadioPhilly carried LIVE BROADCASTS - AUDIO AND VIDEO of Papal Events all week and the World Meeting of Families. To hear replays of the events of the week, go to the iRadioPhilly Papal Podcast Page
