Philly 311 Closed After Bed Bug Found; $5000 Reward Center City Arson; Search Warrants Kane's Office

Philadelphia's 311 call center in City Hall was closed down and employees sent home after a bed bug was discovered inside the room. The center is located in Room 167 on the first floor of City Hall. An employee found the bug on the floor and showed building maintenance. They decided immediately to close the room and fumigate. Employees worked remotely answering questions through social media and e-mail. The center will reopen tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

A Center City fire on Tuesday has been ruled an arson and a reward is being offered for information. The fire was first called in around 4:30 a.m. at a construction site at Chancellor and 13th Streets. After an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives they concluded that the cause of the fire was arson. There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire. If you have any information you are urged to contact the ATF 24/7 hotline at 1-888-ATF-FIRE.

A search warrant was served on the Harrisburg offices of Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane. Kane is facing multiple charges related to leaking secret grand jury information and lying about it to another grand jury. Agents for Montgomery County DA Risa Ferman, who brought the charges after a recommendation from a grand jury and her own independent investigation, did not comment on what they were looking for or why they were searching the AG's office for a second time. Kane's spokesman Chuck Argo could only confirm that agents executed a warrant and that the office complied. He did not know the nature of their investigation.

Tonight,
Clear skies temperatures in the mid 70s this evening in Center City.
