For the second time in a decade, Cheyney University has failed to properly manage financial aid that it awards students, and as a result may owe the U.S. Department of Education more than $29 million. Errors were found in nearly 85 percent of about 4,400 financial aid records reviewed from 2011 to 2014, according to a report released Thursday by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Two months after severe storms ravaged the region, leaving thousands without power and hundreds of homes damaged, the Delaware County Council announced that state assistance is now available for the county and its municipalities. The announcement came days after Gov. Wolf signed a disaster emergency proclamation for the state to help communities that were critically damaged by the storms. Delaware County estimates that municipalities incurred $2.6 million in storm damage - the cost of removing trees, restoring power, and repairing buildings, among other projects.

An F-8 Crusader fighter plane that has been under restoration for the last nine years is set to return to its permanent display at the aviation museum in Horsham this weekend. The F-8 was a key part of the U.S. fleet during the Cold War, flying low-altitude surveillance missions that led to the Cuban Missile Crisis, and battling Soviet MiG planes in the Vietnam War. The 1957-vintage aircraft, owned by the Harold F. Pitcairn Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum, is the earliest model of the F-8 and one of the few intact examples in the United States, according to the museum.
