Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and other city officials held a press conference today to announce the creation of the Papal Playbook, a comprehensive online guide for residents to help them answer questions and plan for the World Meeting of Families next month. The living document will provide recommendations on everything happening in the city surrounding the WMOF and the Papal Visit including events beyond the main attraction. The Playbook will also have transportation information, walking maps, and more information for residents of the entire Philadelphia-area on how they can participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The city will also post a map showing hospitals, grocery stores, and other stores that will open inside the 'traffic box' that Center City residents can walk to over that weekend. The Papal Playbook will online on Monday at Noon. For more information go to: http://www.worldmeeting2015.org/PapalPlaybook/

A New York father was sentenced today to 6 ½ to 16 years in prison after letting his 15-year-old unlicensed daughter drive an SUV that crashed and killed 3 teenage boys last year. 54-year-old Michael Ware pled guilty to three counts each of involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. On Aug. 30, 2014 the SUV driven by his daughter flipped on a country road in Wayne County in the Poconos. Shamus Digney, Cullen Keffer and Ryan Lesher were all killed in the crash. They were all 15-year-old sophomores from Council Rock High School in Bucks County. The Wayne County judge called Ware's actions ”preventable, irresponsible, and reckless.” His daughter was placed on indefinite probation by juvenile court and must perform 300 hours of community service along with writing a 2000 word essay. Ware also has to pay $73,000 in restitution. He did express remorse to the court. His lawyer plans to appeal the sentence which was at the upper end of guidelines.

Philadelphia Police are searching for a man they believe is responsible for two separate sexual attacks on Cobbs Creek Golf Course. The first attack happened July 11 around 3:30 a.m. near the 7500 block of Lansdowne Avenue. The 26-year-old woman was walking through the course when she was grabbed and assaulted. The second attack happened last Friday around 8 p.m. The man walked up to 39-year-old woman and began to pull at her clothing. She struggled to get away and he punched her, knocking her out. He then sexually assaulted her. Both attacks happened within 200 feet of each other. The man is described as clean shaven, Hispanic, 5'5”, mid 30s with a muscular build. The walkways of the golf course are popular shortcuts for many. Police tell people to be on the lookout. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3252.
