Philadelphia police have arrested a man for the sexual assault and murder of a recent Drexel grad in her West Philadelphia apartment last week. 56-year old James Harris faces murder, rape, robbery, burglary and other charges. Harris had been hired to do maintenance in the building on the 200 block of South 50th Street, but was fired, evicted, and banned from the building a week prior to the attack. 27-year old Jasmine Wright was attacked in her third floor unit. There was no sign of forced entry, police believe Harris kept copies of the keys. He has a long history of violence with 31 prior arrests for assault, robbery, sexual assault, and even the murder of his father in 1982. Wright had just graduated from Drexel with a Masters in Environmental and Occupational Health. Her father called authorities when he had not heard from her. The crime scene unit was able to match Harris' DNA and prints from the scene.

"HE WAS A MONSTER" - Philadelphia Police Captain James Clark describes the violent past of 56-year-old James Harris. Harris has been charged with the murder of recent Drexel graduate Jasmine Wright. http://6abc.com/877916/

Wilmington police have arrested the boyfriend of a woman whose body was found yesterday in a playground. 34-year-old Gary Perkins of Wilmington has been charged with 1st degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Jamie Murphy of New Castle. Perkins was taken into custody on Thursday night without incident near 10th and King Streets. Police responded to Canby Park on the 600 block of South Union Street around 10:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious person. They discovered Murphy unresponsive on the playgound equipment. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her cause of death has not yet been determined. Police say that Perkins has been violent with Murphy in the past.

Sports Illustrated has declared Philadelphia Eagles fans the "Most Hated in the NFL." I don't think there was any scientific polling to come to this conclusive, but I'm also sure a lot of Eagles fans will be somewhat proud of the designation. So what about Philly evokes animosity in other fan bases? According to SI, it's the usual cliché suspects. We pelted Santa Clause, the Vet had a jail and a judge, and we booed Michael Irvin's injury. I thought we were just passionate. Read More: http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/07/23/nfl-most-hated-dan-snyder-bill-belichick-percy-harvin
