Severe thunderstorms rolled through the area this evening with heavy rains, strong winds, frequent lightening, and flooding. There were two Tornado Warnings issued, in Chester County, PA and Camden County, NJ. No confirmed reports yet. 140,000 lost power in the Philadelphia area due to down wires, lightening strikes, and fallen trees and debris. Atlantic City Electric reported that 249,000 lost power. PECO is working on restoring electricity to those customers. Commuters on their was home during rush hour got caught in the storms and the heavy rain caused flooding on many roadways, including area highways. Philadelphia International Airport is experiencing delays. SEPTA shut down Regional Rail lines until further notice due to power problems. PATCO was also shutdown.

Seven people, including the groom, were arrested during a wedding reception brawl over the weekend in Berks County. It happened at a banquet hall at Blue Falls Grove in Ontelaunee Township. The fight started when one women confronted another about allowing her 14-year-old son to drink alcohol and get drunk at the reception. That women then got punched in the face. Northern Berks Regional Police were called to the scene. About a dozen people were going at it, throwing punches, and suffering from wounds. Several of the attendees fought with police, including the groom Nicholas Papoutsis. Those arrested were charged with a variety of charges including public drunkenness, obstruction, assault, and others. There were no serious injuries reported.

A Bucks County youth baseball coach is accused of scamming $22,547 from the team's parents for a planned trip to Atlanta last month. 33-year-old coach Shaun Pugh coaches the 14 and 15-year-old travel team The Throwbacks. Each parent had contributed $2,000 to $3,000 for the trip. Bucks County Assistant DA AJ Garabedian explains that while they were on the bus to Philadelphia International Airport, Coach Pugh collapsed in the aisle. 911 was called and he was taken to the hospital. The parents decide to go ahead with the trip on their own. However when they arrive at the airport, there are no tickets booked. Some one stepped up and buys the tickets. When they arrive in Atlanta, there are no hotel reservations either. The DA is still working on the case and this may not have been the first time Pugh did something like this.
