Gay Beating Charges Upheld; Stagehand Falls to Death at Borgata; Caged Boy Snapped then Killed

A judge has upheld charges against three people accused of beating a gay couple in Center City last year. Philip Williams of Warminster; Kevin Harrigan of Warrington; and Kathryn Knott of Southampton (pictured) were walking in a group of about a dozen people in September when they encountered the two victims near 16th and Chancellor Streets. Some of the people in the group allegedly lobbed anti-gay slurs at the men, and a fight ensued leaving both victims hospitalized. A trial date has not yet been set.

A stagehand died this week at the Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City after falling while working on a concert venue. Tony Haines, 61, of Atlantic City, died Sunday after falling off the top-level bleacher section of the Event Center at Borgata. He was tearing up a set with elevated seating for the headliner act the night before, comedian Jerry Seinfeld. Haines lost his balance and fell about 12 feet to the ground.

A different picture is emerging about Zack Pritchett, the 19 year old who confessed to killing his mother and stabbing his grandmother in their Bridesburg home. The Daily News is reporting neighbors claim Pritchett was caged inside the house like an animal and ultimately snapped. Over the last several years, police and human services were called by concerned neighbors about the screams and noises they heard coming from the house.
