Legendary Philadelphia sports journalist Stan Hochman has died. Hochman has been the face of Philadelphia sports-writing for the last 55 years. He was there for every big story from the Eagles' 1960 NFL championship to the 1964 Phillies collapse to the Ali-Frazier fights to the Flyers' Stanley Cup parades. He even had a cameo appearance in the "Rocky" movie. Stan Hochman was 86.

Two teenagers are in custody after a 1-year-old boy was allegedly taken and driven around Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon. According to police, the boy was taken from his mother's Kensington home by a 14- year-old girl and an 18 year old companion. They drove the baby around the city before ending up in North Philly where they handed the 1 year old off to a random stranger. The teenagers are facing kidnapping charges.

A New Jersey teacher had her third graders write “get-well” cards for convicted cop killer, Mumia Abu-Jamal. Marilyn Zuniga of Forest Street School in Orange said she had her students write the cards to lift his spirits. She delivered them to her friend, Johanna Fernandez, a college professor and Abu-Jamal supporter. Fernandez combined them with a second batch of cards from the Philadelphia Student Union before delivering them to the prison.

UPDATE: Orange School Superintendent Ronald Lee said Friday in a statement that teacher Marilyn Zuniga has been suspended. the school denies any prior knowledge of the assignment. Preliminary inquiries have found that Zuniga did not seek school or parental approval. .
