SEPTA bus advertisements proclaiming a controversial anti-Muslim message are appearing on Philadelphia streets today. SEPTA was ordered by a federal judge to accept the ads (pictured), which say "Islamic Jew Hatred: It's in the Quran" and feature a photograph of a 1941 meeting between Hitler and Hajj Amin al-Husseini, a Palestinian Arab nationalist who made radio broadcasts supporting the Nazis. According to Philly.com, eighty-four SEPTA buses are expected to bear the ads by Saturday, SEPTA spokeswoman Jerri Williams said. The ads, produced by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, a New Hampshire-based nonprofit organization, will be displayed for a month, under terms of a $30,000 contract.

Joni Mitchell was in intensive care in a Los Angeles-area hospital on Tuesday. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was found unconscious in her home, is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is reportedly awake and in good spirits. The nature of the illness isn't immediately clear but the 71-year-old singer-songwriter told Billboard magazine in December that she has a rare skin condition, Morgellons disease, which prevents her from performing. Joni Mitchell released a four-disc box set last year and appeared at Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party in February.

Philadelphia Police have recovered the body of a man in the Schuylkill River who had been missing more than 3 months. The body of 69 year old Vito Maglio Sr. was pulled from the river in East Falls with three bullet wounds to the head. In December, the charred remains of Maglio’s GMC Yukon were found in East Germantown with a pool of blood under the driver’s seat.

Convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal is in intensive care for treatment of diabetes and is "not doing well," according to his family. His wife, Wadiya Jamal says 60 year old Abu-Jamal was taken from the state Correctional Institution to Schuylkill Medical Center in Pottsville on Monday after passing out. She says his blood sugar level was 779 when he arrived at the hospital and remains above 300. Anything above 186 is considered dangerously high. Family members said they had not met with a doctor but had pieced together information from conversations with nurses and Abu-Jamal.
