Upper Darby police are asking for the public's help in finding a 25-year-old Drexel Hill woman that has been missing since last June. Amanda De Guio has not been seen since June 7th, 2014 when she left her home. Since then the family has not had any contact with her, no phone calls, and there hasn't been any activity on her credit cards. Her mother Joanne and sister Nicole admit that Amanda has a drug problem and ha engaged in prostitution. They say that even though it was not uncommon for her to leave, she always kept in contact, paid her bills, and returned home, especially for family functions and for her two daughters ages 3 and 5. The family reported her missing in August. Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood is holding out hope that she is still alive but fears that foul play may be involved. The goal is just to get her back. She is described as a white female, 5'3”, 120 lbs., brown hair and blue eyes. She has tattoos of including the 'boot' of Italy and the name "Tommy" on her right torso, and the initials “SC” on her left ring finger. She is known to wear wigs and goes by several other names including 'Gianna,' 'Adrianna' and 'Stacy.' If you have any information call Upper Darby detectives at 610-734-7693.

Philadelphia City Council gave final approval today to the installation of two large 3D electronic displays in Center City by Catalyst Outdoor Advertising. The displays, known as "Urban Experiential Displays" or UED's, are planned for the North Broad Street entrance of the Pennsylvania Convention Center and 12th and Arch Streets, across from Reading Terminal Market. The measure was supported by Councilman Mark Squilla, whose district would contain the UEDs. The measure passed with a veto-proof majority. The UEDs content would contain 70% advertising and 30% other programming, including non-profit announcements, PSAs, original content, and Philadelphia communications. They will also provide funds to local non-profits such as The Reading Terminal Market, Avenue North Renaissance, and Friends of the Rail Park. The plan had it's detractors voiced by the Center City Residents’ Association who asked how the city would benefit and the Design Advocacy Group who was concerned about the size (30-50ft) and brightness. Catalyst has plans for more UEDs in other parts of Center City.

A man convicted last month of killing a Philadelphia man while trying to steal his designer headphones was sentenced today to life without parole. 21-year-old Arkel Garcia had to be restrained and taken out of the courtroom after lashing out and reaching for a deputy's weapon upon hearing the verdict in February. He was calm on Thursday morning when the judge imposed the mandatory sentence. Garcia was convicted of shooting 21-year-old Christian Massey on November 30th, 2013 in West Philadelphia. Garcia demanded Massey's Beats by Dr. Dre headphones which he had just purchased on Black Friday. The headphones cost around $200. Massey refused to give them up and Garcia shot, killing him. Massey was able to give police a description before he died at the hospital.
