Authorities in Bensalem have announced charges against an 18-year-old driver in connection with the death of a 16-year-old high school student who was struck while getting on her school bus last month. It happened on December 17th, 2014 at 6:40 a.m. as Minete Zeka, a sophomore at Bensalem High, was crossing the street to get on her school bus on Bensalem Boulevard near Bridgewater Road. The bus was stopped with its lights flashing and stop sign extended. A 1984 Ford Bronco SUV driven by Michael Shelly of Bensalem drove past the bus striking and killing Zeka. Shelly has been charged with Homicide by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter, four counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Overtaking School Bus, and related offenses. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

The man accused of attacking a women in a Spring Garden parking garage on New Year's Day has been formally charged. 32-year old Steven Woodson of Pittsburgh is charged with rape, robbery and attempted murder. It happened just before 11:00 a.m. Thursday inside a garage at 17th and Callowhill Streets. Woodson is accused of following a 33-year-old women into the garage and attacking her. After knocking her down he sexually assaulted her. The women managed to break free. A man driving into the garage got out of his car and chased the suspect where police nabbed him a half block away.

Tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike are set to go up again starting on Sunday. The turnpike has been increasing tolls annually since 2007 ever since the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania started using a portion of turnpike tolls to fund the state department of transportation (PennDOT) and its own capital work. This hike will be 5% all around for both EZ Pass users and cash, however, EZ Pass users still have around a 35% discount over cash tolls.

Tonight,
Partly Cloudy, temperatures in the mid/upper 30's this evening in Center City
