High School Sex Scandal; Center City 'Die-in' Protest; Paschall Ave Shooting

Erica Ginetti, a high school teacher from Lower Moreland, has been fired after admitting she had sex with a student. The 34-year-old faces a maximum of seven to fourteen years in prison. She allegedly first began flirting with the student when she chaperoned his 2013 senior prom.

Hundreds of protesters marched through Center City Wednesday night to express their outrage over police brutality. The crowd gathered at City Hall, disrupting the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The ceremony was pushed back to 8. As police gathered, protestors chanted “no justice, no Christmas.”

A shooting occurred yesterday morning at about 11:30 on the 5400 block of Paschall Avenue. A 20 year old man was shot once in his arm. A 19 year old was shot in the leg and a 21 year old was struck in the shoulder. The 21 year old was placed in critical condition.

Sports – 76s beat the Timberwolves yesterday, 85-77, avoiding tying the NBA's record for worst start of 18 straight losses. The Sixers are now 1-17.
