Missing Northampton Woman Found; Attorney Accused of Child Prostitution; Barber Shop Shooting

The body of Jessica Padgett was found yesterday and authorities are charging her stepfather with her murder. Padgett went missing Friday afternoon after leaving her job at a daycare center in Northampton County. Her stepfather, Gregory Graf stands accused of shooting her in the back of the head during what authorities think was a sexual assault.

Center City attorney Brian Meehan turned himself in yesterday for soliciting underage prostitutes. Meehan turned himself in after grand jurors indicted him for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, and promoting prostitution of a minor, and related crimes. He confessed to having sex with prostitutes well under 18, one as low as 12.

Four people were shot yesterday at an eastern Pennsylvania strip mall barber shop. It happened at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the All Stars Hair Salon in the Rockland Plaza shopping center in Reading, PA. No one is in custody at this point. According to authorities, only one person was badly injured by the shooting. The other three victims suffered minor injuries. There was a shooting at the same barbershop on Tuesday night, but no one was injured then.

Sports – Flyers lost yesterday to the Red Wings, 5-2

Sixers lose to the Nets, 99-91 and fall to 0-15 on the year. The 76ers have now tied the franchise record for the worst start in team record, matching the start of the 1972–73 team (which also had a record 20-game losing streak later that season).

Weather – Thanksgiving, Mostly cloudy, 40 degrees.
