Two children were killed and a third child and a woman believed to be their mother were found in critical condition after a shooting inside a Burlington County home Thursday morning. Police responded to a call just after 9:00 a.m. to Holly Park Drive in Tabernacle, New Jersey. All four victims were found in the same bedroom and police believe they were shot with the same handgun which was also found in the room. Neighbors say that two families lived in that home for a total of nine people. Right now they are not hunting for a suspect and believe that it could have been an attempt at a murder-suicide. The mother and one surviving son were taken to Cooper University Hospital. Authorities are still investigating a motive and are waiting for the medical examiner's report.

A 19-year-old Holmesburg man has had all charges dropped against him stemming from an incident over the summer where a hero guide dog supposedly saved her blind owner from a home invasion. The victim, Maria Colon, testified last summer that she heard the voice of her teenage neighbor inside her house. Her dog, Yolanda, chased the man from the house and hit a large 911 button on the phone just as she was trained. It was a good thing too because the gas was turned on. Police arrested Tomayo McDuffy going off the voice identification and charged him with attempted murder and other charges. Unable to post the half million dollar bail he sat in jail for seven months. McDuffy's defense attorney says that she made the whole thing up and the district attorney's office has found enough problems with her story to drop charges. McDuffy does not plan on any legal action. He plans to “finish school, raise my son, do what I have to do.”

A Montgomery County judge decided to follow a jury's decision and sentenced Raghunandan Yandamuri to death by lethal injection. Yandamuri was found guilty of 2 counts of first-degree murder in the killing of 61-year-old Satyavathi Venna and her 10-month-old granddaughter Saanvi Venna. It was a kidnapping for ransom gone horribly wrong. Prosecutors believe Yandamuri was trying to take the baby to hold for ransom to pay off significant gambling debts when the grandmother got in the way. The incident took place in King of Prussia in 2012. Judge Steven O’Neill sentenced him to 31-62 additional years for his other charges of burglary, robbery, kidnapping and abuse of corpse.
