Trick-or-treaters found a razor blade in a wrapped piece of candy in Montgomery County on Halloween night. The blade was discovered in a candy bar after a night of trick-or-treating door-to-door in the area of Woodlawn Drive and Walnut Lane in Towamencin Township Friday night. The victim was not injured and authorities are asking all residents to check Halloween candy. You should report anything suspicious to the Towamencin Police Dapartment at 215-368-7606.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and Transport Workers Union Local 234 reached a tentative 2-year agreement last night avoiding a strike. SEPTA Chairman Pat Deon and Union President Willie Brown announced the agreement late on Friday night after 10 hours of talks with negotiators. Both sides are said to have moved a bit in negotiations. “To our union employees, our customers, and the taxpayers. It balances the needs of our valuable workforce, while operating the transit system in the most efficient manner possible,” Deon said. SEPTA's largest union, TWU represents about 4,700 bus, trolley and subway operators and mechanics in the city division, which are responsible for about 825,000 passenger trips on an average weekday. Few details were shared about the new contract other than it was for two years with wage increases. Union members are expected to vote on on Friday, November 7th.

Philadelphia Police have arrested and charged a well known mummer and his daughter for the violent attack and shooting of a man in South Philadelphia last week that was caught on video. 36-year-old Rita D'Amato and her father 62-year-old Carmen "Butchie" D'Amato turned themselves in on Friday night. They have been charged with aggravated assault and other offenses. The incident occurred on October 25th near the intersection of 2nd and Carpenter streets in the Queens Village neighborhood. The two suspects were seen on surveillance talking to the 36-year-old victim for a few moments before Rita swung and hit him with a bat. The victim tried to run away but Carmen shot him in the leg. Carmen was inducted in the Mummer's Hall of Fame in 2006 and was a former captain of the South Philly Vikings. The victim may have been targeted for damaging property in the area, but police are still conducting their investigation.
