Philadelphia cop Ronald D. Thompson was caught soliciting a prostitute by an undercover yesterday. Thompson, a 26-year veteran of the force, was discovered soliciting the prostitute at Old York Road and Bristol Street, police said. He has been suspended for 30 days with the intent to dismiss.

A couple good-hearted neighbors became local heroes yesterday after they helped police catch a robbery suspect. On Tuesday morning, Londae Brown assaulted and stole 6 dollars from a woman. A neighbor witnessed the robbery and posted about it online. Then, another neighbor reviewed film from a private surveillance camera, spotted a clear sight of the robber, and turned it over to the police, who then used it to catch Brown yesterday.

Comcast has agreed to pay $50 million in cash to settle a ten-year-old class action lawsuit that claimed the cable provider overcharged Philadelphia customers. The settlement will affect current customers or those who signed up between January 1st 2003, and December 31st 2008.

Sports – San Francisco Giants won the World Series in game 7 yesterday, final score 3-2

Weather – Partly cloudy this morning, at 48 degrees in center city.
