President of Transport Workers Union Local, Willie Brown stated yesterday that SEPTA workers will likely strike soon, though not this week. According to Brown, SEPTA workers and management are "as far apart as California and Pennsylvania." The main point of contention is the workers' request for a better pension plan. Brown claimed that the strike will go on as long as it takes, also noting that there will be a 24 hour warning before any striking occurs.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Seamus McCaffery announced yesterday that he will be resigning after a 20 year career as a judge. McCaffery, who was implicated in a pornographic email scandal within the court stated that serving as a judge has been a "great honor and privelage." McCaffery was able to maintain his government pensions and agreed not to seek another position. In turn, the Judicial Conduct Board agreed to halt the investigation.

Eight men, 2 from just outside Philadelphia, have been caught in a statewide sweep for online child predators. 21 year old Edward Bacon, from Bucks County, and 22 year old Christopher Pak from Montgomery County were both charged with the possession and distribution of child pornography, according to prosecutors. The arrests were made after an under cover used a file sharing network to identify Bacon and Pak as online predators.
