A popular urban dirt biker was shot and killed this afternoon in Southwest Philadelphia. Police were called to the 2100 block of South 60th Street near Kingsessing for a report of a gun. They found 23-year-old Kyrell Tyler aka "Dirt Bike Rell" inside a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo shot several times in the head, neck, and torso. He was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 1:32 p.m. Police are still investigating and have not released any descriptions of a possible suspect. Tyler was a talented rider and well known in the city's dirt bike/atv community. He had a large following on social media sites like Instagram and Vine. Videos of his often dangerous and illegal riding showcasing his wheelies and tricks on the streets of Philadelphia were popular on YouTube. A vigil was held for him Wednesday evening. Lt. John Stanford, spokesman for the Philadelphia police department, says that Tyler was not shot by police as rumored. There is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for his murder. Tyler had been in trouble with the law recently fighting charges of robbery of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, simple assault, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle dating back to December 2012. Some say he was on the verge of crossing over into the legitimate professional motocross world.

The mother of a 5-year-old girl reported missing on Tuesday night that prompted an Amber Alert is now facing charges. 23-year-old Karissa Peppers of Brodentown, NJ left her 2007 Ford Escape running with the keys in the ignition as she went inside Dee Dee's Liquor's on the 500 block of Brunswick Avenue in Trenton. When she came out of the store the car was gone. Peppers told police that her daughter Jania Davis was in the back of the car when it was stolen. The Amber Alert went out around 8:00 p.m. However, the girl was never in the car and actually was sleeping at a relative's home at the time, far from danger. Police do not know why Peppers told them the girl was in the car. She has been charged with creating a false public alarm. The car was found just before Midnight and the alert was canceled.

Philadelphia Police are looking for two female suspects who allegedly stole a dog outside of a store in Mayfair. It happened on October 11th at 9:42 p.m. outside the Rite Aid on the 6400 block of Frankford Avenue near Levick. A woman tied her pug to an outside gate and went into the store. When she came back out the little dog was gone. Surveillance video shows two white women believed to be in their late teens-early 20's untie the dog, take the pet and leave together through the parking lot. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northeast Detective Division at 215-686-3153 or 3154, or to submit an anonymous tip by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477) or texting PPD TIP (773847)
