If you go to Eagles games, you may have seen Sonny. Sonny Forrest is a Viet Nam War Veteran who entertains fans from his wheelchair outside the Linc. Before last night’s game with the Giants, an intoxicated woman jumped into his lap, broke his microphone and stole his prosthetic leg. Sonny did make it into the game. The Eagles did crush the Giants. And Sonny’s leg was recovered near the Olney Transportation Center. Police are reviewing surveillance video to identify her.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will consider merging 14 more parishes in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware Counties. The clusters targeted for merger are in Delaware County’s Springfield Township, St. Francis of Assisi, Holy Cross and St. Kevin. In Montgomery County, St. Alphonsus in Maple Glen, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Joseph in Ambler, St. Catherine of Siena in Horsham, St. Genevieve in Flourtown and Holy Martyrs in Oreland. In Philadelphia’s Port Richmond, St. Adalbert, St. George, Mother of Divine Grace, Nativity BVM and Our Lady Help of Christians. Based on membership, attendance, finances, facility needs and the availability of clergy to staff parishes will determine which will merge or close.

Cash for Phone kiosks are coming to Philadelphia. Initially City Council wanted to ban them altogether due to fears that cell phone thefts would rise if thieves could exchange phones for quick cash. However a compromise was reached and the placement of kiosks that recycle handheld electronic devices must be approved by Council. The kiosk providers will work with law-enforcement to help identify cellphone thieves by providing photos taken of cell phone exchangers.

Sports
Baseball playoffs tonight, Game 3 Orioles at Royals.

Weather
Cloudy, rain possible. 67 in Center City.
