1952---Bob Horn's Bandstand is born and broadcasted live form Phila. The teen-dance show morphs into American Bandstand. Four yrs. later, Horn leaves and Dick Clark becomes host and producer. The show runs form 1952 to 1989 and moves form Philly to LA in 1964. A TV format, new music for teens, and a major star, Dick Clark, are born. Most of the musical greats appear on the show to promote their new records.
