An 8-year-old girl in Newark, Delaware was critically wounded after being attacked by a pit bull on Saturday afternoon. It happened around 1 pm on the unit block of Adelene Drive. The girl and her 15-year-old sister were inside their home when the family dog attacked the younger one. The older sister was able to call 911 and keep the dog away. Newark police had to shoot and kill the dog when they arrived because it was still being aggressive. She was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in critical condition. The girl is the daughter of Newark City Councilman Todd Ruckle.

A 29-year-old mother was killed and her 8-year-old was injured after being hit by a SEPTA bus while crossing the street last night. It happened at 7 p.m. Friday at 15th Street and Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia. The mother has been identified as 29-year-old Sheena White. Video from the bus' camera shows the Route 27 SEPTA bus making a left turn from 15th Street onto Washington Avenue when White and her son crossed in front. White got hit by the front tire and was dragged under the bus. Police say that the boy was by his mother's side when emergency arrived. He was taken to Children's Hospital and is expected to be okay. The incident is under investigation, but it appears to be a tragic accident.

Jones was arrested on Friday when showed up at the location he had arranged to meet the girl. He was charged with attempted sexual assault and his bail was set at $125,000 cash.
