The manhunt continues for the man that ambushed two Pennsylvania State Police troopers outside the Blooming Grove barracks last Friday in the Poconos. 31-year-old Eric Frein hid outside the barracks and fired upon the troopers with a rifle, killing Cpl. Bryon Dickson and injuring Trooper Alex Douglass. Frein's 2001 Jeep Cherokee was found 2 miles away in a swamp where investigators were able to find evidence that ties him to the ambush including shell casings. Today, police say that Frein belonged to a 'military simulation unit' in Eastern Pennsylvania that reenacts the roles of eastern European soldiers. He may have begun to play that role in real life. Authorities say that he has a longstanding grudge with law enforcement and has made statements about killing officers and committing mass murder. They believe he has cut his hair into a mohawk. Frein should be considered armed and very dangerous. Any information should be reported to 911.

Yesterday, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia confirmed that four cases of respiratory infections that it had treated were the same enterovirus that has been spreading across the country over the past few weeks. The hospital sent samples from five patients to the Centers for Disease Control which confirmed that four of them were suffering from Enterovirus D68. The virus causes fever, body aches, coughing, sneezing, and difficulty breathing, especially in children with asthma. The patients were all discharged from CHOP within 4-6 days. These are the first reported cases in Pennsylvania. 130 children in 12 different states have been confirmed with Enterovirus D68 since mid-August. Today, the CDC says that one of those CHOP patients was actually from New Jersey, upping the outbreak to 13 states. There is no specific treatment or cure. Normal preventative measures such as hand-washing is recommended.

Police in Willingboro, NJ have arrested a school district employee in the theft of 12 iPads sometime over summer break from Twin Hills Elementary School. 40-year-old Fardarie Mitchell has been charged with one count of theft. Mitchell worked as a Crisis Intervention Counselor for the Willingboro School Disctrict. He had access to the iPads while working at a summer program at Twin Hills. The value of the stolen goods is approximately $4,800. He is being held at the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
