Archbishop Charles Chaput unveiled and blessed the official prayer and image for the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in September 2015. It is expected that Pope Francis will come to Philadelphia for the event. The painting is by Kennett Square artist Neilson Carlin and depicts Jesus as a toddler with Mary and Joseph and Mary’s parents, Saints Anna and Joachim.

Doors are open at Philadelphia schools today, but the district’s 130,000 students and thousands of teachers and administrators are dealing with an $81 million deficit. Staffing and funding cuts will present immediate challenges and more than 1,000 more jobs may be lost if state lawmakers don’t approve a $2 per pack tax on cigarettes.

Longwood Gardens is renowned for many things, and now that includes its restrooms. Cintas Corporation has a poll open to the public for the country’s nicest restrooms. And Longwood Gardens is one of 10 finalists for its domed restroom pods in a 4,000 square foot “Green Wall” hallway surrounded by more than 47,000 plants and skylights.
