The 53rd Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival is happening this weekend, August 15-17 at Old Poole Farm near Schwenksville, PA. The festival is the longest running festival of its kind in the country. Join thousands of people along the hillside to experience the sounds of folk music as you enjoy the scenic pastoral landscape.

Five stages will be playing simultaneously with artists ranging from exciting new performers to established bands who never disappoint. This year, some of the performers include Janis Ian, Old Crow Medicine Show, Loudon Wainwright III and many more.

The festival is sponsored by the non-profit Philadelphia Folksong Society, which has been bringing world-class folk music to the Greater Philadelphia region for more than 50 years. Nationally and internationally, the Philadelphia Folksong Society is known for producing this famous festival.

The festival also brings other exciting features such as a juried craft show that will offer demonstrations as well as the merchandise. Food and drink vendors will also be available. If you’re into camping, check out the special free concert in the campground Thursday night. This is only open to Festival Camping ticket holders.

Keep your eyes peeled! Prominent artists like Bob Dylan, Tommy Smothers and Bonnie Raitt have shown up unannounced at the festival so look out for familiar stars!

Tickets can be purchased at pfs.org and range in prices based on the days you decide to attend. Don’t forget to stop by the iRadioPhilly tent. We will be giving away awesome prizes such as free concert tickets! iRadioPhilly will also be live broadcasting from the event all three days from the main stage if you are unable to attend! Visit the Broadcast page for more information
