Police in Delaware County say that a 5-year-old boy is dead and his mother critically wounded after his father shot the two, before turning the gun on himself last night. 26-year-old Shyema Washington and her son Cion Styles were attending a family party on the 1100 block of Haverford Road in Crum Lynne in Ridley Township. 26-year-old Tyrell Styles, the boy's father and Washington's boyfriend, arrived at the party after 11pm. He shot Washington in the face and buttocks and his son in the head. The son was pronounced dead at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Washington remains in critical condition at the same hospital. Styles then fled in his Pontiac Grand Prix. He was pursued by officers to the dead end on the 300 block of Brainerd Boulevard in Sharon Hill. When approached by officers he turned the gun on himself and fired one shot to his head. He is currently on life support at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Styles legally owned that Ruger 9 mm and has no criminal record.
