Last night's lightning, winds and heavy rain darkened the city and many suburbs just after 7 pm. Most of the 10,000 outages reported by PECO were in Philadelphia and Bucks County. In New Jersey 3,000 lost power according to PSE&G with most of the problems in Camden County. In Voorhees, strong winds brought down huge trees onto houses, cars and power lines. A possible tornado touchdown is being investigated in Burlington County. (photo – Warren Avert)

Mayor Nutter thinks foul language on the stage early in the July 4th concert may have made 6ABC trigger happy on the sensor button. Nutter's analysis of the televised Wawa Welcome America show found that rapper Nicki Minaj and host Marlon Wayans used inappropriate language, but the Roots and Ed Sheeran edited their songs eliminating foul language. However they still got bleeped, creating the appearance they were cursing.

Philadelphia Police arrested a man allegedly riding the Broad Street SEPTA line with 4 loaded BB guns and 3 large butcher knives. A female passenger reported seeing the man on the train at 10 pm last night and police began monitoring him on surveillance video. He was arrested after leaving the train at 15th and Market.
