A Burlington County man is under arrest and has been charged with killing his own mother. 44-year-old Herbert Rowlette is accused of killing his 71-year-old mother Maryanne Rowlette on Sunday, Father's Day. Police were called to their Washington Boulevard home at 5:40 p.m. in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township. Herbert Rowlette made the call himself to report a homicide had occurred. Police found Maryanne on the living room floor. Cause of death is pending autopsy results and motive is still under investigation. No one else was in the house at the time. Herbert is being held in the Burlington County Jail on $500,000 bail.

Philadelphia Police are looking for two suspects they say stole over a dozen laptops worth $18,000 from a Manayunk elementary school last week. The robbery took place last Tuesday at 6:15 a.m. at James Dobson Elementary School on Umbria Street in Manayunk. The suspects entered the school through an unlocked front door, went to a second floor classroom, broke into a charging cart, and carried 13 Macbook computers out in a green camouflage duffel bag. Police have released video surveillance of the two teen male suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police at 215.686.TIPS (8477), text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or submit a tip online at PhillyPolice.com

The sale of the former University City High School building to Drexel University has been finalized. Drexel paid the School District of Philadelphia $25 million for the property at 36th and Filbert. The district will net $21.1 million from the deal, an infusion of cash that is much needed to pay bills. Drexel plans to build offices, retail, housing, and a K-8 public school at the site.
