Drunk Passenger Forces Flight Return, Preparations for Pope Francis, Seat Belt Law Enforcement

An overnight flight from Philadelphia to London had to return to Philly because of a drunk, unruly passenger. The US Airways flight took off about 10:20 last night and about an hour into the flight decided to return when a passenger, apparently very drunk, was accosting and groping women on the flight. He was arrested in Philly and the flight took off again without him.

As Philadelphia hopes for a visit by Pope Francis, preparations are underway for next year’s World Meeting of Families. Yesterday, Archbishop Charles Chaput, Governor Tom Corbett and Mayor Michael Nutter were joined by Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia at the Independence Visitor Center. Paglia is the President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, which sponsors the event every three years.

Buckle up. It’s the law. Radnor Township police will be looking for seat belt violators and handing out citations to people in cars not fastened in. Starting Monday through June 8th, the township will join 370 Pennsylvania police departments in the Border to Border seat belt enforcement operation. There will be roving patrols and traffic safety checkpoints in Radnor township.

Weather
Cloudy skies today. 75 in Center City.
