Police have made an arrest in the shooting of an 8-year-old boy in North Coventry Township, Chester County yesterday. 55-year-old Wayne Snowden of the 300 block of South Hanover Street has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for firing the shot that hit 8-year-old A.J. Hagner. At 5:00 pm Friday afternoon, Snowden walked out onto his porch and randomly fired his gun towards West Main Street. Hagner was riding his bike with a friend and was struck by that bullet in his leg. He was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and was released today. The investigation led authorities to Snowden's home where they found two guns. He remains in custody.

Delaware law enforcement agencies are getting ready for a seat-belt enforcement campaign that will run through Memorial Day weekend. “Click it or Ticket” will begin on Monday. Expect checkpoints in Wilmington and Dover and well as patrols by 35 state and local agencies through out the state. Most of the enforcement will happen in the afternoon and evenings. Residents of Delaware shouldn't have too much to worry about, they already have 92 percent seat belt usage compared to the national average of 86 percent, but if its not your habit you've been warned. The big day will be May 19th when a one-day regional enforcement blitz will also include seat belt enforcement in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Love Your Park Week 2014 has officially begun in Philadelphia. The citywide celebration of our area's diverse parks will run through May 17th and include service projects, fun events, educational programs, family activities, tours, and more – at over 100 parks throughout Philadelphia! Today's LOVE Your Park Kickoff Service Day involved thousands volunteers across the city heading to all those parks for cleanup, gardening, tree planting, mulching, etc. Neighbors, community group, as well as park friends helped out to maintain, clean, and beautify these natural and recreational treasures in everyone's neighborhood. LOVE Your Park Week is a collaborative initiative between Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation, the Fairmount Park Conservancy, and park friends groups throughout the city.
