No Power for Hundreds of Thousands, Villanova Closed, Kane Delays Sandusky Inquiry

Hundreds of thousands of people in the Philadelphia region are still without power. PECO is reporting more than 425,000 customers are still in the dark. Most of the outages are in Chester, Bucks and Montgomery Counties. PPL, PSE&G and Delmarva are also reporting thousands of customers are still without power.

Students at Villanova University had to scramble to make housing plans for themselves when the school lost power and announced it would close until after the weekend. Campus generators only provide emergency lighting. Dougherty Hall will remain open to provide shelter for students who cannot get home.

Kathleen Kane announced a delay in the Jerry Sandusky probe. The Attorney General said the inquiry on how the child sex-abuse investigation was handled would be delayed due to a struggle to gather potential evidence and a need to have the report reviewed by a judge. Kane wrote, “Pennsylvanians deserve the full and true story and I will not permit a rush to judgment to interfere with a thorough review.
