Lower Moreland Teacher Arrested; Philly Mob Boss Ligambi Acquitted; Reward in Delco Robberies

An Honors Math Teacher at Lower Moreland High School has been arrested and charged with having a sexual relationship with a student at the school. Erica Ginnetti, a 33-year-old mother of 3 from Philadelphia, first approached the 17-year-old boy at the prom last May and asked him if he wanted to work out at her gym. She then began to send sexually explicit texts, pictures, and videos to the teen over the next few months. That eventually led to an encounter in Ginnetti's car in July where they had sex. Police were tipped off this week from an anonymous call to the child abuse tip line saying they overheard rumors over the explicit relationship. Court records indicate that Ginnetti admitted to her actions. She was charged with sexual assault of a student, corruption of minors and disseminating obscene materials to a minor. She has been released on $50,000 unsecured bail. Ginnetti must also be electronically monitored, surrender her passport, and have no contact with children other than her own (ages 8, 11 and 14.) Lower Moreland school district has placed her on administrative leave and is moving to swiftly terminate her employment.

The alleged boss of the Philadelphia mob, 74-year-old Joseph Ligambi, has been acquitted of one count of witness tampering. The jury in this retrial has confirmed they are deadlocked on the three other counts. In Ligambi's initial trial last year he was acquitted of 5 of the 9 counts of racketeering and gambling charges brought by the U.S. Attorney. The feds will have to decide whether or not to go to a 3rd trial on the remained charges. The jury also aquitted Ligambi's nephew, George Borgesi, of racketeering conspiracy. He has been incarcerated for over a decade on another conviction and pretrial detention but should be released soon.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect who attempted to rob the post offices in Yeadon and Darby. Both incidents happened on Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, between 10:40 and 11 a.m. The man is also suspected in a robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank in Springfield on Jan. 23rd. The man is described as a male between 5’8” and 5’10” and 160-170 lbs. Police say the man's skin is described as waxy like he had a skin problem or burn. He may also have been wearing a mask or makeup. (see photos below) If you have any information contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455.
