Justin Bieber Arrested in Miami, Christie Down in Polls, Fattah Funded Non Profit Audited

Justin Bieber was arrested early this morning in Miami. The 19 year old pop singer was picked up around 4 am for driving under the influence and drag racing. Bieber was driving a yellow Lamborghini when he was pulled over. He was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license. He made a brief appearance Thursday afternoon before a Miami judge via video who set a $2,500 bond for his release.

Governor Christie’s popularity is taking a hit from the recent bridge scandal. A Rutgers-Eagleton poll and a Quinnipiac University poll show the governor’s job performance and approval rating declining and a third of respondents less likely to vote for Christie for president.

A U.S. Justice Department audit has uncovered questionable spending at a local non-profit funded by funds from Representative Chaka Fattah’s earmarks. The non-profit, Philadelphia Safety Net is a one man operation run by Raymond T. Jones who paid himself almost $350,000. Jones previously had worked for Fattah for 10 years.

Mike Schmidt will not be in Clearwater as an instructor with the Phillies this year. Schmidt is dealing with a health issue and needs to stay close to his doctors.
