The jury returned a partial verdict Thursday afternoon in the case of Dorothy June Brown, the founder of four charter schools. The fraud trial about phantom board members, fabricated documents, forged signatures and high test scores has been going on for five weeks. The jury is undecided on 76 year old Brown and her role in a cover up. However two co-defendants were acquitted of conspiracy and obstruction. The judge has asked the jury to resume deliberations on Brown.

The East Falls childhood home of actress Grace Kelly was the scene of animal cruelty. Marjorie Bamont was found guilty of 16 counts of animal cruelty after police found 14 cats in the flea infested home where she lived. The 82 year old Bamont has been ordered to pay $10,000 restitution to the Pennsylvania SPCA and fined $800. She is also restricted from owning any animals for four years.

Thieves carried two sets of solid bronze doors out of Arlington Cemetery in Upper Darby this week. The heavy metal doors are worth $36,000. Each door weighs about 250 pounds and were taken on two separate days this week. Police have stepped up patrols and alerted scrap dealers in hopes the doors show up and can be returned.
