Police are looking for a suspect who attacked and robbed a woman outside the Willow Grove Park Mall. It happened on Monday, Dec 16th at around 8 pm. The 66-year-old woman was leaving the Macy's on the second level parking lot when she was knocked to the ground sustaining injuries to her face, hands, and knees. The suspect stole her purse. The woman was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment. Her credit card was used by a man in a dark colored hooded sweatshirt at the Wawa on Moreland Road shortly after the attack. He was caught on surveillance riding in a late 90's, early 2000's maroon sedan. Abington Police are asking that anyone with information call police at 267-536-1100 or submit a tip at www.abingtonpd.org

A West Philadelphia woman was sentenced to 28.5 to 57 years in prison for the brutal beating death of a 3-year-old child. 25-year-old Nadera Braxton had taken Jacquinn Brewton in after his mother was unable to care for him. The boy was systematically beaten over the next three months, even using a blowtorch on his feet as a form of punishment. The boy was found on June 29, 2011 and taken to CHOP. He died two weeks later from a pancreatic laceration caused by a blow to the stomach. Braxton was charged with Third Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Endangerment of the Welfare of a Child, and Possession of an Instrument of Crime. Her boyfriend, Marcus King, was also convicted after pleading guilty to third degree murder earlier this year.

Earlier this afternoon a woman was saved when a neighbor alerted her to a fire in her own home. It happened at 12:30 p.m. A fire broke out in the attic of a home on the unit block of Delmonte Place in the Bellevue section of Wilmington, Delaware. The woman who lives there was in the shower and did not realize that her home was on fire. A doctor who works in an office across the street knocked on the door and the woman got out safely. Firefighters took 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. The Delaware State Fire Marshal believes the cause was electrical.

Tonight,
Mostly Clear skies, temperatures in the low 30's this evening in Center City.
